— We can pound the pulpit and declare it to be true. .. and believe that it is, but we must learn to articulate the truth of God’s Word clearly in this culture. We must be able to “give an answer” as to why God’s Word is true.

Leadership Through DiscipleshipIn our culture an assertive person is perceived to be a leader. Christ’s disciples were very much like us. While Jesus was intent on developing followers, they were more concerned about who would be the leaders. As Jesus was teaching on serving, the disciples were jockeying for position to be in positions of influence. Jesus led His followers into discipleship. He taught them submission. He modeled the role of a servant. He reminded them of the key to true greatness, “But he who is greatest among you shall be your servant” (Matthew 23:11). You can be greatest when you serve. You will become a Christ-styled leader only when you learn to follow.
